West Alabama Regional Commission's programs for senior citizens are broad and inclusive. Depending upon individual circumstances, a senior citizen in West Alabama can get advice on health insurance, legal counseling, a home-delivered meal, help with household chores, discounted prescription medicines, placement in a part-time job, and many other services.

WARC contracts with agencies in each of the seven counties for delivery of most services. This gives seniors a local point of contact as well as a regional contact.

In addition to providing services to individuals, WARC plans a number of group activities just for senior citizens to enjoy. The West Alabama Senior Appreciation Day attracts almost 1,000 seniors from all over the region. Senior Day in Montgomery gives seniors an opportunity to visit with officials in the state capital.
